Burnout Sucks: And It’s Making Your Best People Quit QuietlyGetting Ghosted Sucks: But You’re Not InvisibleGetting Ghosted Sucks: But You’re Not Invisible

Too Many Interviews Sucks: You’re Not Auditioning for Broadway

You nailed the recruiter screen. Crushed the hiring manager call. You smiled through the team panel. Tackled the case study like a boss. Charmed the department head. Now they want… a presentation? About their product? For round six?

What is this—Shark Tank: Job Edition?

If you’re dealing with interview fatigue, you’re not crazy. It’s not supposed to take a six-act play and a TED Talk to land a role. And yet, too many interview rounds have become the norm in modern hiring—and it's wearing good people out.

Why So Many Interviews? (Spoiler: It’s Not You)

Here’s the dirty little secret: most companies don’t need this many steps.
They’re just scared. Scared of making the wrong hire. Scared of owning the decision. Scared of that one VP who “just wants to have a quick chat” before you’re hired.

So instead of trusting their process, they drag it out. More interviews. More opinions. More "alignment." And by the time they make a decision, you’re either over it—or already hired somewhere else.

It’s not just inefficient. It’s insulting. You’re a candidate, not a contestant on Survivor: Corporate Edition.

How to Make It Suck Less

❓ Ask Early: “What’s your interview process look like?”
Get clarity up front. If they say “just a few chats” and you end up doing a panel, whiteboard session, and interpretive dance, that’s a red flag.

    📉 Watch the Signal-to-Noise Ratio
Are they actually learning something new each round—or just passing you around like a group project? If it’s all repetition, they’re stalling. Not assessing.

📬 Follow Up (Yes, You Can)
If it’s been five rounds and crickets, ask: “Are we getting close to a decision point?” It’s a polite nudge that says, “I’m interested, but I value my time too.”

    🚪 Know When to Walk
Your worth isn’t defined by how long you're willing to perform. If a company can’t make a decision without 7 meetings, imagine how they’ll handle actual business.

    Your Time Matters—Act Like It

Here’s the truth: if a company needs a dozen people to “feel good” about hiring you, they probably don’t deserve you.

Hiring should be thorough, not theatrical.
So next time you're stuck in interview limbo, remember: you're evaluating them too. And if it feels like a marathon with no finish line?
It might be time to take your talent elsewhere.

Because you're not auditioning—you’re applying. And if they don’t get that, you’re better off skipping the encore.
